My selection of best places in Zurich to enjoy specialty coffee

I fell in love with coffee recently. Not the coffee you swallow in a couple of seconds, just to keep you awake. But the speciality coffee with a nice taste and smell, that you can enjoy for a while.

My drink of choice is a flat white, in my opinion it has the right balance between the taste of the coffee and the smoothness of the milk. It's like a cappuccino but with a different ratio of coffee and milk.

Vicafe

They have several small locations all over Zurich where people queue outside. They are a chain but the quality is overall good.

I usually buy beans for my home espresso machine here because they always offer freshly roasted beans from their own roastery.

Mame

Josefstrasse 160, 8005, Zurich

This is one of the most famous places to get speciality coffee in Zurich. The place in Josefstrasse is not that big, but it's cozy and has a great offer of coffee from all over the world. You can try a special tasting experience of 3 coffee.

Miro Manufactura de Cafe

Brauerstrasse 58, 8004 Zürich

A few steps away from the messy Langstrasse, you find the Miro' roastery, cafe and shop with a garden where you can relax while enjoying amazing specialty coffee that has been roasted in that same place.

The primary location in Löwenstrasse was often very busy and the long queue always discouraged me to enter. Since they opened a shop in Kreis 3 close to where I live I really enjoy going there for breakfast, they have delicious pastries and cakes other than good coffee of course.

Cute and small location, they are focused on Indonesian specialty coffee. They also do courses and company events.

It opened in early 2024. Nick, the barista worked at Mame and Collective Bakery before, he has a ton of experience and won prizes at Barista championships.
The cafe is small, but with a nice and welcoming atmosphere.

About Coffee

I really liked this roastery, cafe and shop that used to be in the Brunaupark shopping center, but in June 2024 they closed and it's not yet clear where or when the next opening will be.
